01 / Illustrative project
Electronics enclosures
A hardware team's path from fit-check samples to a controlled enclosure batch.
Illustrative project, not a completed customer order. Quantities and materials below are example inputs; process and QC steps are a proposed plan, not recorded results.

The production brief
Start with the CAD revision, PCB envelope, connector clearances and assembly drawing. Agree which surfaces and interfaces determine sample approval.
Proposed production process
- Review wall geometry, access for supports and intended print orientation.
- Produce fit-check samples and review them against the customer's mating components.
- Agree the approved revision, hardware and finish before authorizing the batch.
Proposed QC checks
- Define drawing dimensions, measurement method and sampling plan before production.
- Check connector openings, lid fit and fastener engagement against the approved reference.
- Record visual findings and hold nonconforming parts for a disposition decision.
Packing & shipping plan
Proposed: keep matched lids and bases together, protect contact surfaces and identify the drawing revision and quantity on the pack list. Agree carton count and destination before arranging shipment.
Before batch release
Approval gate: fit-check acceptance, agreed inspection record and a reviewed packing list. No delivery time or pass rate is claimed for this example.
